Collaborative Emergency Centre

This facility is a Collaborative Emergency Centre. During daytime hours, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, we are open based on physician availabilityPlease call 902-597-3773 for more information. If a physician is unavailable on a specific day, a closure notice will be posted on our temporary closures page. This facility is closed during overnight hours, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m 

If you need help immediately, call 911.
 
To access the mental health mobile crisis team call 902-429-8167 or toll-free at 1-888-429-8167. This is a 24 hour, seven days a week phone service to help you or your loved one cope with mental health and addiction challenges in the moment.

Visitors are welcome daily between the hours of 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Please check with nursing staff, if you want to visit outside of the standard visiting hours.

Semi-private and Private Rooms in Nova Scotia Hospitals

  • Semi-private room: Includes two beds separated by curtains and one washroom. You can find current rates here.

Space in our private and semi-private rooms is limited. The sooner we have your insurance information the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your request.

When the booking clerk calls with your hospital admission date, let them know you are interested in a private or semi-private room.

When you are admitted, be sure to have your private insurance card with you and let the admitting clerk know you have requested a private or semi-private room.TV and phone in your room.

TV and Phone in Your Room

TV Service
TVs are available in restorative care patient rooms. There is also a TV in the second level lounge.

Phone Service
To connect phone service, dial 499 directly from the bedside phone or call 1-800-760-8969. Fees apply for this service.

Inpatient Meals

All patients are provided with meals and snacks during their stay. If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.

Family and friends may bring food to a patient but should confirm with nursing staff that it does not conflict with any food restrictions.

Cafeteria and Vending Machines

Food and coffee vending machines are located in the cafeteria on the basement level. You can access the cafeteria 24 hours a day. A vending machine with beverages is located on the main floor just inside the main entrance.

Spiritual Spaces and Quiet Rooms

A spiritual space and family room are located on the second level.
